How To Upload A Book and Activate the Read Online Link? |
I have search the forums, read the FAQs, done Google searches, but so far I haven't found a definitive answer.
Let's say I have 10 jpeg scans. They are my book. How can I upload them so they will be made into a Read Online (BookReader) link? I have read of various xml files and setting up a zip file with a proper directory structure and file name based on the identifier id. But I don't know how to generate the xml files...I see so many books that have the Read Online link. It can't be that hard! Thanks for any tips!

Russ,
Convert them to PDF, use PDF Merge and create one PDF file then upload that, the Server will automatically render everything else. Irfanview can be used for the conversion, they are both Open Source and no cost and work 'very' well ... I use them

Thank you, Gerry. I already use Irfanview (great program). And I have Adobe Pro.

name the files sequentially. put them in a directory (folder) with a name that end with _images. zip the file and upload the _images.zip file.

Awesome, thank you very much, Jeff! Just did a test and it works perfectly. Another quick question: does this file have to be uploaded on the initial creation/upload, or can the images zip file be added later?

it can be added after but you would need to manually start another derive task. here's how:
Edit item > change the information > Item Manager > click the "derive" button.
